Paws, Suds & Smiles

Open Arms Pet Grooming was built on a simple idea: care should never be out of reach. We exist to provide gentle, judgment-free grooming for pets at every stage—whether they need routine upkeep, a fresh start, or a little extra patience.

At the heart of our business is a purpose-driven model where every full-service groom helps fund reduced-cost and sponsored care for low-income families and shelter animals. By creating this cycle of support, we’re able to serve both paying clients and pets who might otherwise go without care.

Our goal is to create a space where every pet is welcomed as they are, and every client becomes part of something bigger. Because when one pet is cared for, it helps open the door for another. Alyssa

Founder/Pet Groomer

Animals have always been at the heart of Alyssa’s life. From years spent working in animal welfare to opening her own grooming salon, one thing has remained constant: She believes every pet deserves to be treated with patience, compassion, and respect.

Alyssa created Open Arms Pet Grooming because she wanted to offer a calm, one-on-one environment where pets aren't rushed through assembly-line appointments or left waiting in kennels. Here, every appointment is centered around your pet's comfort, building trust and creating a positive grooming experience that lasts long after they leave.

Her passion extends beyond grooming itself. Alyssa founded our Accessible Grooming Program because she believes financial hardship, disability, or life's unexpected challenges shouldn't prevent pets from receiving the care they need. Every appointment at Open Arms helps support this mission, allowing us to give back to families and pets in our community.

Whether your pet is nervous, elderly, has special needs, or simply deserves a little extra patience, Alyssa’s goal is always the same: to provide gentle, high-quality grooming while treating every pet as if they were one of her own.

Ashley

Apprentice/Bath & Brush Pet Groomer

Ashley is the apprentice groomer at Open Arms Pet Grooming, bringing a strong foundation in animal care through her work in veterinary clinics, animal shelters, and her family’s farm. With hands-on experience supporting anxious, senior, and rescue pets, she has developed a reliable, calm, and highly attentive approach to fear‑free grooming and low‑stress handling.

Her background includes assisting with medical care, behavioral support, and recovery for pets in clinical and shelter environments — experience that has strengthened her ability to recognize stress signals, adapt her handling techniques, and prioritize each pet’s comfort and safety. At home, Ashley lives on a  farm with her family and five dogs, giving her daily exposure to a wide range of animal temperaments, needs, and behaviors.

As she advances through her grooming apprenticeship, Ashley combines professional training with real‑world animal expertise to deliver consistent, gentle, and detailed‑oriented grooming care. She is committed to maintaining the high standards of Open Arms Pet Grooming by providing a safe, supportive, and respectful experience for every pet.

I believe the most powerful impact happens when businesses and communities come together. If you’re a local business, organization, or rescue looking to collaborate, I’d love to connect.

Partnerships can look like shared promotions, sponsored services, event collaborations, referrals, or creative ways to support pets and their people together.
